Mustang is famous for outstanding snowcapped mountains, the mysterious caves and an amazing architectures.The upper mustang is prominent for the adventurous trekking and Highlands whereas the lower Mustang is popular for its beautiful scenery. It lies in the rain shadow of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. There are a lot of caves in this Region. Among them Chhoser cave is amazing, interesting and mysterious cave. There are more than 50 different Rooms inside the cave. You have to climb up the steep stairs to enter the cave and inside the cave, there are many ladders to go from one Floor to another. You can enjoy the view of spectacular landscapes of Chhoser valley from the window of this cave. Lo manthang, the capital of upper Mustang is the central attraction of the trek which is also known as “City of clay” or “City of wall”. You will also get to see the royal Palace made up of mysterious walls situated in the middle of the City. The majority of the houses in Lo manthang is build with mud brick walls and muddy Roofs that symbolizes the sign of Peace. There is also a huge clay statue of Buddha as well as the Mandalas painted on the walls. Moreover Damodar kunda(Pond) and gompas like Jhampa, Thupchen and Chhoeda are also the centre of attraction during this treek. you will also get to admire the breathtaking views os snow Peaks such as Nilgiri, Annapurna and Machhapuchre. Best time to visit
June to September is the best time to visit Upper Mustang as you can get the glance of the vegetation along with joyous weather. Moreover, it is possible to visit here from the beginning of March to late December.

 

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu

Our representative will Pick up from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, and transfer to the hotel.In Hotel we introduce the guide and talk about the trek and arrange the stuff which you need while trekking.

Day 2Free Day in Kathmandu

This day you can rest or do Shopping for trekking and if you want to do sightseeing than we can arrange you for the sightseeing in Swayambhunath Buddhist Monastery, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath Monastery and Pashupatinath. These all tour destinations are world heritage sites designed by UNESCO world heritage. You can see typical features of different locations. After finishing the tour, you have to prepare for upcoming trekking and we will introduce the guide and do short briefing.

Day 3Drive to Pokhara by Tourist Bus

After having Breakfast in Hotel, we drive towards Pokhara from Kathmandu in the Morning by tourist bus that may take up to 7/8 hours, with breaks on the way at beautiful places (Who wants to have it faster can book a flight to Pokhara for an extra charge).
We drive to the Fewa lake and the quieter city of Pokhara.

Day 4Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom and Trek to Kagbeni

After having an energetic breakfast, we will take a flight to Jomsom from Pokhara. A short flight will land on Jomsom, the initial point of the trek. From there the real trek begins towards Kagbeni. We initiate our trek through an open trail alongside a beautiful valley. Located at the banks of two rivers, to reach Jomsom, we pass through the Eakli Batti village. The village is beautiful with flat roof houses and also will let you explore the ruins of an old fortress.

Day 5Trefkking to Chaile

Before we begin our trek, we take our trekking permits and make checkin in the checkpostThen, we move ahead alongside the Kali Gandaki river. Walking on a sandy road, with every step you can feel the strong wind blow. We reach the Tangbe village heading through the narrow alleys. Enjoy the glances of white-washed houses, buckwheat fields, and apple orchards. Further on our way, we cross a village and a river. Then before reaching Chaile, we walk on a ridge and climb about 200m uphill to get there.

Day 6Trekking to Syangboche

Today we begin our trek from Chele to Syangboche. After having our early morning breakfast we get ready for the trek to Syangboche. The trail would be a little difficult compared to the other trails in this trek. Today we cross two passes, Taklam La pass, and Dajori La pass. Not to mention, the spectacular views of Tilicho, Yakawa Kang, Damodar Danda, and also pass through Ramchung cave. Descending through an abrupt trail we reach Syangboche.

Day 7Trekking to Tsarang

We head towards the capital of Mustang, Lo Manthang. It is a walled city with the royal palace in the middle of it. Descending to a canyon, we move ahead and cross a river before beginning our uphill trek to Lo La pass which at 3950m. From the top of the pass, we can admire the beautiful Lo Manthang village. Furthermore, we descend to Lo Manthang which is a beautiful walled village. From here the views of the Himalayas including Nilgiri, Tilicho and Annapurna I, Bhrikuti Peak, as well as Damodar Kunda (pond), is quite amazing.

Day 8Trekking to Lo Manthang

Day 9Explore to Jhong Cave

Today we spend our entire day at Lo Manthang. You will get to explore the culture and tradition of Lo Manthang. The all whitewashed mud-brick walls and muddy roofs of the houses are the signature piece of Lo Manthang. ChampaLhakang, with a huge clay statue of Buddha as well as elaborate mandalas painted on the walls, is a major temple which is like a must visit one.

Day 10Trek to Dhakmar via Namgyal Gumba

Day 11Trekking to Drakmar via namgyal gumba

After having our early morning breakfast, we start our trek to avoid the strong winds and descend for the most part of the treks. Before reaching Ghiling, we pass through a dry plateau and fields. Ghiling is mostly a dry place, but the views we get of Mt. Nilgiri and Mt. Dhaulagiri is truly amazing.

Day 12Trekking to Syangbuche

After having our breakfast, we hike on the same trail as before going to Lo Manthang. Not to mention, on the way back we will get to enjoy some spectacular views of Himalayas and villages.

Day 13Trekking to Chusang & Tetang

After having breakfast we start the treks same way back trekking for a while,. After that, we finally head towards Chuc sang or to Tetang

Day 14Trekking to Muktinath

Today, We are trekking towards Muktinath which is one of the most popular around Hindu and Buddhist religion. Muktinath is a Vishnu temple, sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. It is located in Muktinath Valley at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass in Mustang, Nepal. It is one of the world’s highest temples. The site is close to the village of Ranipauwa, which is sometimes mistakenly called Muktinath.

Day 15Trekking to Jomsom via Lupra Village

We are heading towards to Jomsom via Lupra village where you can see local villages at high altitude and their lifestyles. you can have many mesmerizing moments along the way and panoramic view of hills back to Jomsom.

Day 16Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara

After having our breakfast, we take a flight to Kathmandu via Pokhara. The flight in itself would create some unforgettable experiences for you. The jaw-dropping views of Annapurna ranges and Mt Dhaulagiri makes it even worthy.

Day 17Free Day in Pokhara

We will have a rest day and free day in Pokhara where you can buy souvenirs and gifts from Nepal to your friends and family. you will be carrying lots of memories with trekking and adventure activities in Nepal.

Day 18Drive back to Kathmandu by Tourist Bus

While driving back to Kathmandu, This trip could be considered one of the best, cherishing moment with lots of views alongside rivers, Forest and Hills/. While driving on the tourist bus to Kathmandu, is interesting to watch. (For a surcharge, a flight is possible). Rest of the day free time.
