 Nar Phu Valley via Teri-La Pass Camping Trek is an absolute adventure where you trek through two of the restricted and remotest regions in Nepal. The exploration of Upper Mustang–The Last Forbidden Kingdom—is followed by the wilderness of Teri-La Pass (5595m) which connects Upper Mustang with the secluded Nar Phu Valley. This trek offers the visitors a chance to explore the ancient caves, monasteries, medieval villages, breathtaking valleys, and to get an insight of Buddhist art and culture.

 During the trek, you visit the ancient monasteries such as Rangchung Cave Monastery, Ghar Gompa, Luri Cave Monastery, Thukchen Monastery, and Lhakhang Monastery. You will be exploring the historic city of Lo-Manthang and old villages of Nar and Phu in the Nar Phu Valley after crossing the dramatic mountain pass, Teri-La (5595m). This trek package not only gives you the opportunity to view the snow capped mountain peaks such as Dhaulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri (7061m), Lamjung Himal (6893m,) and Annapurna II (7937m) but also allows to observe Buddhist culture and local lifestyle of the Himalayas.  Many ethnic groups such as Gurung, Tibetans, and Brahmins reside on this route and each has its own unique set of customs and traditions. 


Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu

Our representative will Pick up from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, and transfer to the hotel.In Hotel we introduce the guide and talk about the trek and arrange the stuff which you need while trekking.

Day 2Free Day in Kathmandu

This day you can rest or do Shopping for trekking and if you want to do sightseeing than we can arrange you for the sightseeing in Swayambhunath Buddhist Monastery, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath Monastery and Pashupatinath. These all tour destinations are world heritage sites designed by UNESCO world heritage. You can see typical features of different locations. After finishing the tour, you have to prepare for upcoming trekking and we will introduce the guide and do short briefing.

Day 3Drive to Jagat via Besisahar

After breakfast, we drive north towards Syange Waterfalls. We take a bumpy road route to Besisahar and drive along the river, villages and farmlands to Jagat.

Day 3Trek to Dharapani

After breakfast, we continue our journey through the dense forest until Chamje and follow the bank of Marshyangdi River until we reach Tal. The trail further continues through cultivated farmlands and other side the road goes but we hike alternative way takes us to Dharapani. Dharapani is the largest village in this region.

Day 4Trek to Koto (2600 meters) .

After breakfast,we continue our journey through the trail goes dense fir forest and continues through the river alongside of oak and maple trees. On the way, we cross a village Bagarchap Danaque and after that we have to ascend about one and a half hour to get the lunch place Temang where we can see the remarkable views of snow-covered peaks and we continue our way to Koto through the beautiful scenery of nature along the way to Koto.

Day 5Trek to Meta

After breakfast,Today we get our permits checked and registered at Police check post of Koto. and continue the journey through narrow valley and dense pine and rhododendron forest and continue following the Naar Khola River that leads us to Meta. On the way, we will not find any lodges until Meta.

Day 6Trek to Phu (4050 meters)

After breakfast,we continue our journey through the Phu Khola and walk through the arid valley with a good view of Kangaroo Mountain, Pokharakan and Amotsang Himal. Today we make gentle climb which is not difficult. The first migrants from Tibet and settled here nearly 200 years ago.

Day 7Exploration Day

Today is the first scheduled of acclimatization period for Terila Pass Trek. Mountain experts believes that it is wise to stay active even in rest days for better acclimatization of your body with altitude so we take a short hikes in and around Phu Valley. We visit local people and explore ancient monastery that was first built by Tibetan migrants.

Day 8Trek to Naar

After breakfast, we continue our journey again take a packed lunch as there are no lodges or shops along the trail. We climb down to Mahendra Pool which was financed by the ancient King. We cross the bridge and make a steep uphill hike to Naar where is our today’s destination.

Day 9Trek to Dharmashala

After breakfast, we follow Lapse Khola then cross the river and continue walk up to Chubse kharka (4,400m Lunch Place) and walk straight for an hour then walk down to the river side at our camp.

Day 10Trek to Lapse Khola (4900 meters

After breakfast,We continue our journey through the wilderness valley following the river where we can see only a few temporary shepherd huts and continue in lush pasture land which is used for cattle grazing especially the yak and continue up to Labse khola passing a number of side valleys.

Day 11Trek to High Camp

After breakfast, we continue our journey ascending and following the river to high camp The trail now gradually and continuously climbs traversing the ridges towards the high camp.The trail does climb steeply but once again drops down to the river after gaining a good couple hundred of The trek now moves away from the civilization for the next week. A steep ascent starts the day and quickly starts dropping down to cross the Lapse Khola. Now, the trail follows the valley upwards and stays with the main river,

Day 12Trek to Paspukhola via Terila Pas

After breakfast, we continue to ascend to the summit of Teri la pass which is the highest elevation of whole trek and which was also once ancient trade route to Tibet and now is used by local people to graze their cattles. We start our journey early morning, summit the Teri La at 5,595m /18,296 ft from where you can superb views the Annapurna & Chulu mountains & Teri La Peak, Purtun Himal region. As soon as finishing taking photographs than we gradually descend down hill walk to Pasphu Khola which is our today’s destination.

Day 13Trek to Yak Kharka

After breakfast,we continue our journey through walking several ups and downs with tiny narrow trails, crumbing ways continue descending downhill to Yakpa Khola river where two rivers meet

Day 14Trek to Tange

After breakfast,we continue our journey through several high ridges later we descend into the Tangge village, Tangge is a village of about twenty houses, many sheep, goats and large mastiffs and the largest chorten in Mustang, over fifty feet high. There was a massive mudslide some years ago which wiped out many of the houses and barley fields on both banks; an elder of the village told us there were over a hundred houses in Tangge before this disaster.

Day 15Trek to Yara

After breakfast, we climb down to the Rocky Riverbed, cross the river and make our way to Yara village. The ups and downs along the trail might test your endurance capacity.Leaving Tangge heading northeast we cross the plateau on a little-used trail, following it through more fantastic landscapes, and eventually the green village of Yara below, across the Puyung Khola. Descend to the rocky river bottom than we cross the river and head for the village. We camp for the night in the courtyard of a local guest-house in the lower section of Yara, a bustling campsite full of Mustangi life. Have a walk above the village in the afternoon, the sun shining through the willow leaves which brighten the village.

Day 16Exploration Day

After breakfast,we hike to luri gumba one of the most attractive parts of this region which is inside the cave till now and inside the cave there is beautiful stupa which is about 500 years ago and the colour is awesome which was made by the bark and leaves of the tree and the half part is destroyed by landslide many years ago and they made new one little bit down side and it is also a good looking .

Day 17Trek to Lo Manthang (3720 meters)

After breakfast,we continue our journey to Lo-Manthang which is the capital city of Mustang, we trek through a magical world of salt drips, narrow canyons, pebbly flood plains and soaring cliffs. The right fork heads to the 14th-15th century Chos Sung Gompa,. The nomads to the north hold the key to the main gompa. We have reached the fabled King Jigme Palbar Bista, called ‘Lo Gyelbu’ by the Mustangis, still resides at his four-storied palace inside the city walls. He is an avid horseman and keeps his own stable of horses, some of the best in Mustang. These days, the king plays a somewhat ceremonial role, although he is well loved and respected throughout Mustang.All others must walk, to pay their respects to Chenrizig, the Buddha of Compassion.

Day 18Exploration Day

After breakfast,Today we scheduled as exploration day in Lo Manthang. We will explore Namgyal gompa and Tingkar in Lo. Namgyal Gompa is located atop of hill and serves as an important monastery and court of the local community. After exploration, we make a trek to Tingkhar – a last settlement to the northwest of Lo-Manthang and hike back to the hotel.We also have the option to visit Tall Champa Lhakhang “God House” the red Thugchen Gompa, Chyodi Gompa and the Entrance Hall, which is the major attraction of the town.In the eastern valley lies the village of Chosar, also rich in gompas,Jhong caves and the valley is the main trading route to Lhasa.

Day 19Trek to Dhakmar

After breakfast,we get an opportunity to visit two other villages on our return trek. The trail climbs steadily to the pass marked by a cairn, offering a last glimpse of Lo-Manthang. We cross the highest pass this trek and arrive in Ghar Gompa (3,920 Meters). This monastery is very old and older than Samye monastery in Tibet, supposed to be built around 730AD by Bodhisattva monk Padmasambhava. After crossing the pass around 4,100 meter than we descend down to the way in Dhakmar (3,520m) 0n the way we can see many canyons and eroded hills we can say to Dhakmar is itself a world of red land.

Day 20Trek to Shyangboche

After breakfast,we continue our journey from Dhakmar the way goes down to until Ghami 11,314 ft the huge greenery village in Mustang where we can see the ancient monastery and stupas with. You can see the local houses here like cave. Than after the trail goes ascend until Nyi La pass and descend With the company of Nilgiri peak, we make an uphill climb for a while that brings us to Ghami Village. On the way, we see long main wall and pass two more passes with the view of Annapurna range to reach Ja Myung. It is a beautiful village located in between Gheling and Syangboche. Here we can visit age-old Gompas and Monasteries.

Day 21Trek to Tetang

After breakfast,we continue our journey through the trail is quite monotonous. We walk through Samar and Giakar Village and stop at Chaile for lunch. The view of Tilicho and Nilgiri Peaks dominates the entire trek. After lunch, we continue downhill to the village of Tetang.

Day 22Trek to Muktinath

After breakfast, we make a steep uphill hike for around three hours. As we reach the top, we are rewarded with the best views of Thorong, Annapurna and Tilicho Peak. Next we walk on a gradual pace to Muktinath.

Day 23Trek to Jomsom

After breakfast,we continue our last journey of Teri La Pass Trek. We wake up early to capture the view of sunrise over the Himalayas. We also pay homage to Muktinath temple (sacred Hindus and Buddhist temple)only one in Nepal or in the world and in the morning we descend to Kali Gandaki river and walk through Kali Gandaki River valley to Jomsom.

Day 24Fly to Pokhara

After breakfast,today we take an early morning flight to Pokhara. Once we arrive at Pokhara, our guide will drive you to the hotel. After hotel check-in refreshment you have enough time to explore the Pokhara city.

Day 25Drive to Kathmandu by Tourist Bus

While driving back to Kathmandu, This trip could be considered one of the best, cherishing moment with lots of views alongside rivers, Forest and Hills/. While driving on the tourist bus to Kathmandu, is interesting to watch. (For a surcharge, a flight is possible). Rest of the day free time.
