Langtang Helambu Trek

Langtang Gosaikunda and Helambu Trek is a beautiful journey in Nepal through Nepal’s first Himalayan national park and the country’s fourth protected area. It exceeds an altitudinal range of 6,450 m (21,160 ft) and covers an area of 1,710 km2 (660 sq mi) in the Nuwakot, Rasuwa and Sindhulpalchok Districts of the central Himalayan region encompassing 26 village communities. In the north and east it is linked with Qomolangma National Nature Preserve in Tibet.The western boundary follows the Bhote Kosi and Trishuli Rivers. The southern border lies 32 km (20 mi) north of the Kathmandu Valley.

The high altitude sacred Gosainkunda lake is located at an altitude of 4,300 m (14,100 ft) inside the park. The Dorje Lakpa range at 6,988 m (22,927 ft) bisects the park from west–east to south–east. The summit of Langtang Lirung (7,245 m (23,770 ft)) is the highest point in the park.

 

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

Our representative will Pick up from Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, and transfer to the hotel.In Hotel we introduce the guide and talk about the trek and arrange the stuff which you need while trekking.

Day 2Free Day in Kathmandu

This day you can rest or do Shopping for trekking and if you want to do sightseeing than we can arrange you for the sightseeing in Swayambhunath Buddhist Monastery, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath Monastery and Pashupatinath. These all tour destinations are world heritage sites designed by UNESCO world heritage. You can see typical features of different locations. After finishing the tour, you have to prepare for upcoming trekking and we will introduce the guide and do short briefing.

Day 3Drive to Syabru Besi

After breakfast we drive by private Jeepto Syabrubesi, a village which is also the starting point for treks into the Langtang valley. Our journey will be on a winding road through frequent switchbacks. On a clear day we get to enjoy outstanding views of Manaslu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal and in the ends with a descent into the small village of Syabrubesi.

Day 4Trekking to Lama Hotel 2440m

After breakfast, we begin our trek to Syabrubesi along the Langtang Khola. We ascend and descend simultaneously through oak and rhododendron forests. After crossing a bridge over the Langtang Khola (small river), we ascend on a steep trail which will lead us to the Lama Hotel.

Day 5Trekking to Langtang 3330m

We continue ascending from Lama Hotel and enjoy the mountain landscape with abundant waterfalls. As we reach the green meadows of Ghora Tabela, we begin to see the white peaks of the Langtang range. Our trail continues to climb up the widening valley, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders. We pass a Buddhist monastery before reaching the Langtang village which was affected by the April 2015 earthquake.

Day 6Trekking to Kyanjing Gumba 3730m - Hikking to Lirung Glacier

After breakfast, we will start our trek to Kyangjin Gompa, a principal monastery of the region. We pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. We also pass by the largest mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them (Om ManiPadme Hum). After the short trek,after lunch we spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the Buddhist shrine in Kyanjin Gompa and surrounding areas with the amazing views of the mountains.

Day 7Hike to Tsergo Ri 4984m

We begin early in the morning. The trail passes through yak pastures before ascending to Tserko Ri. The sunrise view from the top of Tserko Ri is extraordinary.The path is not always straightforward, especially long. Large boulders, which we have to tackle for the last hour, do not make the climb easy towards the end. Yet uphills you have one of the region’s most beautiful views of the Langtang chain.

Day 8Trek to Lama Hotel 2440m

We begin our trek after breakfast and retrace our steps to Lama Hotel. Most of the trekking today will be downhill as we pass through forests and beautiful Tamang villages. We also get to enjoy a different view of the Himalayas that we had missed climbing up

Day 9Trekk to Thulo Syabru 2210m

We begin our trek with a climb up to the Rimche Village. From here we descend to the banks of the Langtang Khola. We continue on an easy trail to Bamboo and begin ascending to Landslide Lodge. From here we continue our trek to Thulo Syabru. There are two trails as we cross another bridge. We follow the one that passes by Pahare hotel and a waterfall at 2210 m to reach Thulo Syabru.

Day 10Trekking to Shing Gompa 3250m

This rises steeply on the mountain meadows and the dense forest. We recover a little of the difficulties during the lunch break in a clearing with a beautiful view far from Tibet. The path is much more comfortable than before, generally just straight ahead, until the quaint little town of Shin Gompa, which has a yak cheese dairy and a very old small monastery.

Day 11Trekking to Gosainkunda 4420m

The trails to Laurebina is hard, where we’re going to stop for lunch. But it continues in ways that are simply beautiful in the mountain views. Is Ganesh Himal, Manaslu’s Annapurna string, the vision is incredible. After a steep climb, the last part of the route is one of the most spectacular here. It’s a spectacular walk through large rock formations and the first of the holy ponds.

Day 12Trekking to Phedi via Surya Peak 5145m and Suryakunda pass 4610m

Who wants to crack with us today’s 5000 meter mark. Through a stunning panorama, the way to the summit winds past the holy lakes. Yeah, it’s tough, but with many breaks and in peace we’re soon at the summit decorated with many colorful prayer flags at the summit of Surya peak when you leave the summit, you’ve walked downhill to Phedi more than 1500 m to 2000 m.

Day 13 Trek Thadepati

This goes up and down again and again through dense forest high altitude rhododendrons we need a lot of energy to reach our destination. There are many forms of forest, flora and fauna and some wildlife, and again we walk uphill to Thadepati about 300 to 400 m

Day 14Trekking to Kutumsang

After breakfast we leave Thadepati and continue to descend downhills to kutumsang through the ridge enjoying the beautiful nature trails leads almost downhills of course the trails is not so easy but many rhododendron trees and other flora and fauna make us easy to reach us in our destination.

Day 15Trekking to Chisapani

After breakfast,again We descend through adventurous forests over Kutumsang with the fantastic sight on mountains and the local villages and tea shop on the way that Village life in Nepal and we bring with us on beautiful nature trails to Chisapani and witness closely how the inhabitants master their everyday life here.

Day 16Trekking to Nagarkot 2215m

We sense dense forests and jungle in Shivapuri National Park Reserve, where we’re walking today. There’s the perfect end of the day and the tour in Narakot. A great natural spectacle is the sunset seen from the hotel terrace.

Day 17Trekking to Dhulikhel and drive back to Kathmandu

We will have a rest day and free day in Kathmandu where you can buy souvenirs and gifts from Nepal to your friends and family. you will be carrying lots of memories with trekking and adventure activities in Nepal.

Day 18Free Day in Katmandu

We will have the rest day and free day in Kathmandu where you can buy souvenir and gifts from Nepal to your friends and family. you will be carrying lots of memories with trekking and adventure activities in Nepal.

Day 18Final Departure

Our representative will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport according to your flight schedule.
