Tour Details

Gokyo valley lies towards the west of the more famous Khumbu region of the Himalaya. The serene valley boasts extensive pastures for yaks to graze during summer and the pristine turquoise lakes are simply breathtaking. Gokyo can be visited after trekking up to Everest Base Camp by adding another five days to the itinerary.

There are two high passes leading out of the Gokyo valley, the Cho La pass being the most traveled, which leads on to the Khumbu valley near Lobuche while the other is Renjo La pass that joins the trail between Thame and Nangpa La pass. Following the Everest trek route, one takes the alternative exit route as far as Phortse.


Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m) and transfer to the hotel

When you arrive In Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). Our representative welcomes and receives you from the Airport and transfers to the hotel. After checking in hotel If you have remaining dues, you should clear at our first meeting. If you have time you can visit around Thamel and take a rest.

Day 2Free day in Kathmandu

In this day you can rest or doing some shopping for the trek or if you want, you can have some sightseeing in Swayambhunath Buddhist Monastery, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath Monastery and Pashupatinath. These all tour destinations are the world heritage site designed by UNESCO. You can see typical features of different locations.In the evening we will have a briefing about the trekking for next day.

Day 3 Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla: 30-35 minutes and trek to Phakding (2,700m): 3-4 hours

Early in the morning, our trekking guide receives you from the Hotel to go Airport and fly from Kathmandu to Lukla by a small flight. In this breathtaking route, you enjoy in nature with the hillside surrounded by many mountains. Lukla is beautiful gateway destination where your trek begins. You meet our crew members there and pack your luggage with them. You descend to Cheplung village which is the viewpoint to see sacred mountain, Mt. Khumbila (18,900 feet), descend until you reach Phakding During this trekking, you get Bed-Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner and 3-5 cups of tea or coffee as your choice. Overnight at Lodge. B/L/D Trekking time approximately 3-4 Hrs

Day 4Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,450m): 5-6 hours

After having breakfast, you start your trip to go Namche Bazaar. At First, you walk through a beautiful pine forest, follow Benkar valley. Cross the Dudh koshi river side, jungle side and village side. You will follow the Hillary path to cross the Hillary Bridge and continue your trek to Namche. When you reach the middle part of Namche you will get a chance to see the memorable views of Mt.Everest (8,848m), Mt. Lhotse, if the weather is clear at the very first time with your nacked eyes and continue your journey to go Namche Bazaar, the home land of great mountaineers Sherpas.

Day 5Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar (3,450m)

During your Everest region trekking, Namche is the place where every visitor should take rest and visit Khumjung side for the acclimatization. You can get many facilities like shops, internet cafes, ATMs, restaurants etc. Hike to Sagarmatha National Park where you get views of sunrise and Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Kongde, Thamserku and so many mountains. Khumjung is a very interesting place to see the Himalayas views included Mt. Everest and many snow-capped views of white Himalayas and peaks. In khumjung there is Hillary school conducted by the famous mountaineer Hillary foundation. There is one old monastery where you get a chance to see the head of the rare animal, yeti you can visit the charming green valley, Sherpa settlement, Khumjung village and take lunch there. Return back to Namche. Overnight at Lodge B/L/D

Day 6Trek from Namche to Dole (4,040 m) 5-6 hours

After breakfast we will walk through the jungle and Yak pasture land and reach to Mong Danda very beautiful view point of the snow cape mountain like Mt Ama Dablam, Kangtega,Thamserku, Mt Everest,Mt Lhotse Mt Tabuche etc and after taking the picture, then continue descend to the riverside to Forchhe thangka and take lunch. From riverside, the trail leads ascend approximately 3 and a half hour to Dole.

Day 7Trek from Dole to Machhermo (4,475 m) 3-4 hours

After breakfast we Walk very short but really challenging path to climb Machhermo because of high altitude. Be careful and walk slowly, it’s time to care for your body parts and drink a lot of liquids to keep your body balance. Overnight at Lodge B/L/D Trekking time approximately 3-4 hrs

Day 8Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo (4,750 m) 3-4 hours

Climb 3-4 hours to reach Gokyo lake where the blue snowy lakes are waiting you to welcome. After lunch, it is better to visit around the valley walk about 200m so you can sleep well.

Day 9Explore around Gokyo valley

Rest day, it is better to go Gokyo-ri for the superb scenery of the Himalayas or visit 5th lake and Cho-oyu base camp side. Return back to the hotel and stay Overnight at Lodge B/L/D Hiking Time Approximately 5-6 Hrs

Day 10Trek from Gokyo to Lungde (5,365 m) Renjo pass then descend) 6-8 hours

After breakfast we will start our trek early in the morning at around 6 am. It takes 3-4 hours to climb Renjo-pass (5,365 m), on the top of Renjo, wao the superb scenery of more than a dozen snowy peak including Mt.Everest (8,848 m the symbol of pride), Mt.Lhotse, Mt.Makalu, Mt.Tscho-ou, Mt.Nuptse, Mt.Amadablam, Mt.Pumori and many more than 6,000 m peaks with Gokyo valley lakes and world’s longest Ngozumpa glacier views are just incredible to you. You can capture more than a dozen of photos from your camera for your lifetime memory. Then descend to Lungden

Day 11Trek from Lungde to Namche Bazaar 5-6 hours

Walk around the very famous growing Potatoes in Marulung village and head towards Thame then continue the trail descends to Namche.
Overnight at hotel.B/L/D Trekking time Approximately 5-6 Hrs

Day 12Trek from Namche to Lukla 5-7 hours

The trail descends to the Dudhkoshi river valley then crosses the suspension bridge and villages. Lukla is your first place to start the trek and end too. You will celebrate your last day trek at Lukla with the trekking team members. Enjoy to celebrate your sorrow and happiness there with the teams who helped you to succeed your Gokyo valley trek very memorable and fruitful.

Day 13Back to Kathmandu

Be ready to back Kathmandu. You will take breakfast at Lukla or Kathmandu, that doesn’t matter, the mention is the most important Lukla-Kathmandu flight. Rest at the hotel or go to massage center for relaxation or shopping as a gift for your relatives.

Day 14Extra day

In Everest region trekking, the flight is not sure because of the weather. So we keep 1 extra day to manage. If the flight happens on our programs, you can be sightseeing in Kathmandu valley or day hiking near the Kathmandu valley.

Day 15Free day and prepare to go your homeland

Today is your free day and prepare to go your homeland. Our representative will departure you from hotel to the Airport. Then says farewell for your safe journey.
