Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu

Overnight at hotel

Day 2 Flight to Lukla

The imposing Himalayan mountain range accompanies you during the short flight to Lukla. Your porters are already waiting in Lukla. Join in for a cup of tea and start your first hike to Phakding (2610m), always along the Dud Khosi River.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 4 hours

Day 3Trekking to Namche Bazar (3440m)

An exciting day, with an hourly hike up to the small Sherpa capital Namche Bazar. After entering the Sagarmatha National Park in Monjo we cross one of the most spectacular suspension bridges on the way. Further through pine forests, the last part of the day, which has it in itself, turns very steeply upwards.
Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time: 8 hours

Day 4Rest day for acclimatization

The day today serves the better height adjustment. We will spend the night in Namche again after a day’s hike. Of course, we already see many beautiful mountain massifs here, for example hiking to Everest View Hotel or Khumjung.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D)

Day 5Trekking to Tengbuche (3855m)

We start to one of the most beautiful and well-known monasteries in the Khumbu area, after Tengbuche, which stands on a ridge surrounded by huge mountains. Initially, we follow the Imja Khola River until the path winds its way upwards. The monastery and the mood make up for the hassle of the day and you have to look at the inside. Maybe it’s just a puja (prayer ceremony), which of course you can watch with due respect. The trek to Tengboche is about a 6-hour hike.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 6 hours

Day 6Trekking to Dingbuche (4410m)

We break the 4000th mark and the Ama Dablam (6812), one of the most beautiful and sacred mountains in the Himalayas, is the focus of the day. Slowly nature changes around us, it gets barren, because we reach the tree line.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 7 hours

Day 7acclimatization

Acclimatization must be, so we stay one more night in the same lodge and make our way to a trip to Chukung (4715m), in peace, of course. There are not too big climbs, but the height takes its toll. On the way we see the Iceland Peak, Nuptse and the 8000’ter Lhotse.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 7 hours

Day 8Trekking to Labuche (4910m)

Forwards, through rather sparse vegetation, but with breathtaking views, we approach the Thukla Pass, a place with many little chorten, where one remembers the deceased on Everest. In Thukla at the pass, we fortify ourselves with a delicious Dal Bhaat, which we have earned thoroughly deserve after the last climb of the day, which is not without.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 8 hours

Day 9Trekking to Gorak Shep (5140m)

The altitude is noticeable on the rather short way to Gorak Shep, where we take a tea break and rest. Then we head to the seemingly endless path towards Everest Base Camp. Meter by meter, we fight ahead. But all efforts are rewarded. Although you can not see the top of the highest mountain in the base camp, you are surrounded by the highest mountains in the world. Indescribably beautiful and fantastic nature turns around you. Exhausted, but completely satisfied with the achievements, we return to Gorak Shep.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time around: 5 hours (plus base camp about: 7 hours)

Day 10We climb the Kala Pathar (5550m)

Climb to a small giant in Nepal. Even before sunrise we start, a seemingly easy way to climb the high altitude a little harder. We take many small breaks to take pictures and drink. Views of the Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7861m), Lingtren (6714m and the Pumori (7161m) are indescribably beautiful as the sun rises slowly over the mountains. We look far into the valley at the meandering Kumbhu Along the glacier, we leave this beautiful place with a heavy heart and continue on to Labuche.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 8 hours

Day 11 Trekking to Pheriche (4250m)

It will be easier again. We make ourselves comfortable on the descent, the ice giants still in the field of vision. The air gets noticeably thicker again, so that sleep is easier again.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 5 hours

Day 12Trekking to Pangbuche (4000m)

Even a lighter day, where the way of height constantly decreases. Once in Phangboche, enough time to visit the old well-preserved Gumba and relax for the rest of the day.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 4 hours

Day 13Trekking to Phortse (3800m)

On a beautiful mountain trail, downhill and surrounded by the still beautiful mountains, you have plenty of opportunity to unwind and relax at the end of the tour in the lodge.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 5 hours

Day 14Back to Namche Bazar (3440m)

Each step falls more easily on our descent back to the Sherpa main village Namche Bazar. Use the rest of the day to visit the Sherpa Museum. Saturday is market in Namche, which is worth to visit. or enjoy a delicious coffee at one of the many bakeries in the village.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 6 hours

Day 15 Trekking to Lukla (2840m)

Unfortunately, our beautiful tour is over today. A longer but interesting path along well-known paths through picturesque landscapes and mountain villages is our farewell from the mountains. Toward the end, after Lukla, there is once again a short climb which again calls for all reserves. But after the last days, this will be a no brainer.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 8 hours

Day 16 Flight back to Kathmandu

Do not miss to sit right in the direction of flight. So you have a great view once again a magnificent view of the Himalayas mountain range. Back in Kathmandu is the rest of the day free time.

Overnight at the hotel (F)

Day 17Free Day

The following days serve as a safety buffer, weather-related flights should be postponed to / from Lukla. Take the opportunity to conquer the Kathmandu valley, which has a lot to offer. How about seeing the palace of a living child goddess (Kumari) or a Buddhist temples full of monkeys? The biggest stupa outside Tibet, just finished after the terrible earthquake, is waiting for you. The largest Hindu sanctuary, the Pashuapathi temple complex is also worth a visit. The city is rich in contrasts and vibrant. Gladly we help you further and organize (optional) for you a guided sightseeing tour, also German speaking. You can read more details here ……

It would also be possible to hang a three-day tour to the Chitwan National Park on the trekking tour. This would also be possible from Nepal at short notice and a very good alternative if Lukla arrives punctually. What’s in Chitwan? Here is our offer ….

Overnight at the hotel (F)
