Day 3 Drive to Soti Khola (745m)

Before it goes off into nature, we have a slightly longer ride ahead of us. We leave Kathmandu behind and start in the private vehicle, via Arughat into nature. From Arughat we mostly drive along the Arkhet River, where the Gurung ethnic group settled.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L (A) Travel time approximately: 8 hours

Day 4Trekking to Machha Kola (825m)

Although some progress has been made in this first part of the Manaslu area and today it is mainly run along a barely used gravel road, we walk through the lush nature with a beautiful sallow forest in a relaxed atmosphere. Sal tree wood is one of the strongest wood species in the world, with the old filigree carved windows built in the temples of Durbar Squaere in the Kathmandu Valley. Slightly uphill, past some waterfalls and Gurung settlements, we reach Labrubesi for early lunchtime, from where we come past cultivated rice terraces to our destination. A very long and beautiful suspension bridge will see you on the way. Even though it does not have to be crossed, you will still have plenty of opportunities to cross it in the ongoing tour.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 7 hours

Day 5Trekking to Dobhan (1070m)

Many small waterfalls along the way will enchant you today. Until Tatopani, with its hot springs, we easily pass through jungle-like terrain. At lunchtime, maybe with a traditional dal bhat (rice, lentils and pickled vegetables), we prepare ourselves for the rest of the way, always along the Budhi Gandaki River, sometimes slightly up and down again. Nepal Flat – as the locals like to call it.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 6 hours

Day 6 Trekking to Philim (1570m)

Today you will get to know Philim, one of the largest Gurung villages in the region. The Gurung are a well-known ethnic group in Nepal, many of whom serve men among the famous Gorkha troops in India and Britain. A narrow valley, slightly uphill, so we start the day. But it does not stay that way, because now the path runs through a dense forest for about an hour. From here you have a beautiful valley view of the Budi Gendaki River. Straight ahead, a very nice hiking trail and past hanging bridges, reach after about an hour Jagat, our lunch. Slowly the valley opens and you catch a glimpse of the big mountains. Just before Philim it goes up again. But the beautiful place with its Gumba – Chhyoling Sandu – and the view of Sringi Himal,

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 7 hours

Day 7 Trekking to Deng (1850m)

Slowly we move closer to the Manaslu and arrive in higher regions and slowly in Buddhist-dominated area. Many chorten (tombs) and Mani walls enrich our day today. Again and again up and down, through small traditional places and bamboo forest, that’s how our day turns out.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 6 hours

Day 8Trekking to Namrung (2625m)

Several times we cross the Budi Gendaki River, which now winds through a broader valley and collapses into the often huge waterfalls. By noon in Ghap, it is a bit exhausting. It is now exciting, because through beautiful pine tree pine forests, always slightly increasing, we have almost reached our daily goal after two hours.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 7 hours

Day 9Trekking to Shyala (3500m) via Lho (3180m)

The first two hours we experience in a beautiful forest up to the village Lihi. There is a beautiful old monastery with a very large prayer wheel waiting to be turned for good karma. In addition, the moment gives you a fascinating view of snow-capped mountains Boudha Himal (6670m) and Himalchuli (7890m). Another beautiful Ribung monastery overlooking the Manaslu we have from Lho. Continue straight and after crossing the river we reach another beautiful village called Sho. From here you can see the Manaslu for the first time. Slightly up through open countryside a few minutes is Lho where to eat like lunch and visit the monastery at the terminal. A little more than 2 hours, mostly straight with a view over the roaring river, we reach Shyala after the last easier climb.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 7 hours

Day 10Trekking to Samagaon (3530m) via Pungyen Monastery

A grueling but beautiful day. Through sparse forests and again past waterfalls, we continue our hike through deeply Buddhist-dominated areas. From our main road to Samagaon, we branch off towards a small side valley and come to the Pungyen monastery with a great view. The monastery was rebuilt after being destroyed by an avalanche in 1954 after the first ascent of Manaslu, which was unsuccessful. In the direction of Samagaon, the valley opens up and you have a very early view of our daily destination

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 8 hours

Day 11 Rest day in Samagaon

At the end of the Manaslu Glacier is the beautiful Birendra Lake, surrounded by some mighty mountains. A rewarding and, above all, great photo destination, something you should not miss. On the one hand we use the day for a better height adjustment and on the other hand we have the opportunity to discover many beautiful things. But first we enjoy our delicious breakfast, before we tie the trekking shoes again and prepare for a short hike to the old monastery nearby. As well as the great panorama trip to Birendra lake tackle.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 5 hours

Day 12Trekking to Samdo (3850m)

Samdo the last village before the pass crossing is to be defeated today. A rather simple short trekking day of the paths provided with beautiful chorten, mostly straight through the rustic birch forests. Path through the broader valley and we reach the lodge already at noon. There is plenty of time left to end the day in peace. Again we cross the river and work out a last, but still coming rise. The rest of the day gives enough time to rest or relax.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 5 hours

Day 133 Trekking to Dharamsala (4460m) / Larky La base camp

We always pull our tracks up to the base camp of the Larkya Pass, where our highest sleeping place will be. A rather shorter stage, which still leaves time to end the day in peace and to prepare for the pass crossing the following day. A small tea break and once again we set out to master some more meters up. This is mainly a good adaptation to the height.

Note : Otherwise, double rooms will always be available during the tour in the different lodges. In Dharamsala there are currently (December 2018) only 3 lodges with limited space. There are currently no double rooms in these lodges! In the high seasons or even when the weather is breaking, it can happen that a lot of hikers are here. Therefore, it may happen that several guests have to share a room, usually 4- or 5-bed rooms. Are the rooms all occupied, there are enough tents to stay.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 6 hours

Day 14Trekking to Bimthang (3725m) via Larkya La 5161m)

Already at 4 o’clock in the morning we prepare for the pass crossing. A climb that is not too heavy, but because of the unfamiliar altitude but strenuous ascent winds to the valley on the north side of the Larkya Glacier. From here you have the first fantastic view of the day on many mountains. Over the moraines of the glacier, it goes up gradually and is quite steep towards the end. A small teahouse below the pass will be quite welcome. On the one hand to gather some new strength or to warm up. The pass is reached! Now your camera will surely come to full use, because fantastic landscapes lure and let the past hardships forget something. Himlung Himal (7126m), Kanguru (6981m) and the Annapurna II (7937m) are the non plus ultra at this moment.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 9 hours

Day 15Trekking to Goa (2500m)

It is pleasantly warmer, if it means to come down into lower climes into the Dhud Khola again. After crossing the river, we enjoy beautiful pine and rhododendron forests, which we cross. Through beautiful foliage and rhododendron forests – and terraced fields we make our way. One last time the gigantic mountains greet us. Shortly before the end of our hike today, the Panoramaweg leads us once again a small climb and back down to Goa.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 6 hours

Day 16Trekking to the valley (1700m)

Along the banks of the Dud Khola (milk flow) we trek further downhill, initially to Tilje, through the increasingly green landscape. Shortly before Dharapani are the last two suspension bridges of the tour, which we have to pass again. Here is also the junction that leads to the main route of the Annapurna round. Now is the time for a little lunch. A new, alternative nature trail with abundant bamboo shrubs and waterfalls will inspire us. With a little luck we will also see lemurs monkeys.

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 7 hours

Day 17Trekking to Jagat (1415m)

Our tour around the Manaslu is almost over, just a short walk. In just 4 hours the time has come and we will be at the end of Jagat. A little bit of jungle feeling awaits us on the easy trails lined with waterfalls and giant poinsettia trees. A little more luxury than the past few days is not to be despised. During a last dinner with your crew, there will certainly be plenty of time to review the last experiences

Overnight in Lodge (B / L / D) Hiking time approximately: 4 hours

Day 18Drive to Kathmandu / via Besisahar

It will be adventurous again. The drive in the local jeep over hill and dale is certainly not always comfortable. In Besisahar we change our vehicles and make our way back to Kathmandu, now in our private car.

Note : It is also possible to drive from Besisahar to Pokhara. There you can extend your trip to Nepal and spend one or more days in Pokhara. Inform us if interested and we will organize this for you.

Overnight at the hotel (F) Travel time depending on the traffic situation about: 7 hours

Day 19Kathmadu - another time for an interesting city

Admittedly, the silence of the last days gives way today, because Kathmandu is louder. However, it scores with enormous cultural treasures. Whatever you want to do, it will surely be another great adventure. Be it a trip to Patan or Bhaktapur, which will make the day pleasant with its beautiful temples and ancient streets. If it is “just” something small, then you stroll to the central center of the city of Itten in ancient Kathmandu. The market district Indra Chowk and Asan Tole are waiting with a colorful mix of life and all sorts of things to acquire. Pure Nepal, you can call it that.

If you do not have enough of the mountains that you can fully understand, we can offer you a morning flight to Everest. We are happy to organize this for you. Click here for the offer …….

Overnight at the hotel (F)

Day 20flight home

It is time to say goodbye, so we accompany you punctually before departure to the airport and wish you a safe journey home
